Some of my favorite days of any year are when it snows—not ice, but beautiful snow that makes everything white! These are days when I can sit in my special Jesus chair in my bedroom with the tree lights on, watch the snow fall, have a cup of hot tea, and dive into Scripture and prayer. This past Friday, we were blessed with one of these days. As I was studying, I was led to Zephaniah 2:1-3.
Gather yourselves together [in repentance], yes, gather [in submission],
O nation without shame,
Before the decree takes effect [and the time for repentance is lost]—
The day passes like the chaff [whirled by the wind]—
Before the burning and fierce anger of the Lord comes upon you,
Before the day of the wrath of the Lord comes upon you.
Seek the Lord [search diligently for Him and regard Him as the foremost necessity of your life],
All you humble of the land
Who have practiced His ordinances and have kept His commandments;
Seek righteousness, seek humility [regard them as vital].
Perhaps you will be hidden [and pardoned and rescued]
In the day of the Lord’s anger.
When I read this passage, I knew deep in my spirit it was a prayer for this time.
What we have seen in our nation as our calendar turned the page to January 1, 2025, is only the beginning of many things to come. During this time, it will be crucial to see from God’s vantage point what is taking place, or you will get lost in the fear and chaos of the world.
As I have sat with the Lord in prayer over these past four years, recently read Hebraic books on Revelation, and read and reread the book of Revelation for myself, I have peace deep inside my inner man. We are now living in the time when the Lamb is opening the scroll and breaking the seven seals (Revelation 5-8). The horsemen are being released and are riding upon the earth.
The white horse is a picture of deception and also ushers in a season of harvest when the wheat and tares are separated. Revelation 6:1-2 says, Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, “Come!” I looked, and behold, a white horse, and the one who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. The crown is a symbol of authority. The bow traces back to the Hebrew word qesheth (H7198), which means rainbow and deceptive archers (Gesenius). This word is in a family of words that is rooted in the meaning of gathering and harvesting stalks of grain (Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible, B1435). From all these meanings, can you see the white horse rider manifesting on the earth?
