We are in a time when we need to listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying very closely. Things have changed, and life as we knew it has shifted. Most people may not realize the seriousness of this shift. Still, for those leaning into prayer and asking God for His insight, we know things will never be the same again.
Yesterday, I got up and clearly heard that I needed to come and sit and listen. There are times to be in corporate gatherings and with other believers; we also need to sit and let God speak. It is not one or the other; it is both. So, I made some tea, got my journal and Bible, and settled into the chair where I sit with the Lord. The words began to flow as soon as I sat down and opened my journal. How do I know it is God and not my own soul or mind? When the Holy Spirit speaks to me, He inserts scripture to back up what He is saying. Everything He says refers to the Word. He points to Jesus. He glorifies the Father.
Over this week, I will share some of the things I heard that I can share publicly. We need a proper perspective of world events, what is happening in our nation, and our hope amid chaos. God's children live in the world but are not of the world (John 17:16). But if our souls are not rooted and grounded in the love of Christ (Ephesians 3:16-19), we will be shaken as things shake around us. Men's hearts are going to faint from fear of what is now going to take place.
The first part I want to release today is the need to be very discerning about our words in this hour. Things in our lives will come crashing down, like the walls of Jericho—places where strongholds have been built. Relationships where the enemy has built thick walls because of hurt, pain, and unrepentant sin—walls that cannot come down until the pride that is keeping them in place turns to humility.
Right now, the spirit of pride and human wisdom is bombarding our airspace. Everyone has opinions, and as in the book of Judges, man says and does what is right in their own eyes (Judges 21:25). Working behind pride and human wisdom is a wicked principality called Leviathan that twists communication and words. His job is to cause confusion, chaos, misunderstanding, and offense. He will twist words so the hearer will hear something different than what was said. This is a wicked principality that only the Lord Himself can defeat (Isaiah 27:1). The Holy Spirit spoke to me,
The devil will fight oneness through the principalities of racism, violence, lust, greed, selfishness, and pride. Well-known voices will rise and have risen in these spirits. They are being used as puppets, where the powers of darkness are ventriloquists using their voices and influence to spread hate. Leviathan, anti-semitism, spirits of murder, and hatred will become louder online and in the streets.
Brothers and sisters, this darkness will try to divide our nation, our churches, and our families. But if we are aware of the enemy's tactics, we can win and have victory.
What is the answer for victory? Pride cannot stand when it comes face to face with humility. Silence can be our best weapon in this hour. Marching in silence until God says shout, so that the Jericho walls will fall. The Jericho walls will fall, and men will be humbled in this hour. Those that we thought would never humble themselves will fall on their knees in repentance because of what is coming upon our nation. Many will turn away with even harder hearts, but many will also repent and surrender to the Lord. Do not lose hope, and keep praying for those whose hearts are guarded by walls of pride.
Practically, I encourage you not to engage in meaningless arguments during this time. The enemy will use it to divide and cause offense. Romans 14:1 in the Passion says, …Refuse to engage in debates with them (true believers) concerning nothing more than opinions. The enemy is going to taunt us into debates and arguments. Do not take his bait. Do not comment on every social media post. Do not engage in every conversation you are baited into. Choose to walk away. Let the spirits driving men’s words have their say, but refuse to get in the mix. We will fall if we are divided. This is not an excuse to not speak the truth, but be so saturated in prayer and the Word that you know that when you speak, you speak words from the Holy Spirit.
The key verses for these instructions are Job 22:21–30 and Isaiah 26:20–27:1.
“Now yield and submit yourself to Him [agree with God and be conformed to His will] and be at peace;
In this way [you will prosper and great] good will come to you.
“Please receive the law and instruction from His mouth
And establish His words in your heart and keep them.
“If you return to the Almighty [and submit and humble yourself before Him], you will be built up [and restored];
If you remove unrighteousness far from your tents,
And place your gold in the dust,
And the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks [considering it of little value],
And make the Almighty your gold
And your precious silver,
Then you will have delight in the Almighty,
And you will lift up your face to God.
“You will pray to Him, and He will hear you,
And you will pay your vows.
“You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you;
And the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways.
“When you are cast down and humbled, you will speak with confidence,
And the humble person He will lift up and save.
“He will even rescue the one [for whom you intercede] who is not innocent;
And he will be rescued through the cleanness of your hands.”Job 22:21–30, AMP
Come, my people, enter your rooms
And close your doors behind you;
Hide for a little while
Until indignation runs its course.
For behold, the Lord is about to come out from His place
To punish the inhabitants of the earth for their wrongdoing;
And the earth will reveal her bloodshed
And will no longer cover her slain. On that day the Lord will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent,
With His fierce and great and mighty sword,
Even Leviathan the twisted serpent;
And He will kill the dragon who lives in the sea.
Isaiah 26:20–27:1 (NASB)
Each day, we need to pray for wisdom on when to speak and when to stay silent (Ecclesiastes 3:7).
I am also including a PDF prayer that the Holy Spirit gave me to protect us against Leviathan's twisted communication. You can print this off and pray for protection against the onslaught of this principality during this time.
May we have discernment and wisdom, and may the Jericho walls begin to fall!
Blessings,
Brandee
Recently at my son’s home in Virginia, I was surrounded by liberal thinking guests and family (Monte & his wife). Though their words were corrosive to me, the Lord closed my mouth. I had no words in opposition. He sent my grandson to remove me from the room. Matthew needed my help. I can see now God’s wisdom and help in removing me from a potentially hurtful conversation. I am grateful, so grateful to have avoided this situation. God is faithful!
