The one I love calls to me: Arise, my dearest. Hurry, my darling. Come away with me! …The season has changed, the bondage of your barren winter has ended, and the season of hiding is over and gone. … “There is change in the air.”
Song of Songs 2:10-13, TPT
There is change in the air. Can you feel it? Yes, there is physical change on the earth as spring breaks forth from winter, but the change I feel is spiritual. It is the sense of long-awaited breakthroughs and restoration that are manifesting on the earth. Things we have been praying for are done and completed works! It is time for them to be manifested in our lives! It is the birth of new assignments and new depths of revelation. A new walk with the Holy Spirit is upon us, where we are beginning a new cycle and going deeper if we choose to say yes. There is a deeper relationship God is drawing His people into as we begin this Hebrew month of Nissan.
Nissan is the first month of the Hebrew religious calendar and the seventh month of the civil calendar. How like the Lord to make the first also the seventh? To make the new beginning also the month of completion and perfection! In Nissan, we Passover into new seasons, like the earth passes into spring.
Nissan means miracles. This month begins the season of spring, which is known as the season of deliverance. One of the Hebrew words for spring means repentance. Repentance leads to deliverance. Today through the end of June is a set-aside time on God’s calendar for us to experience His redemption, forgiveness, and extravagant provision in our lives. In what areas do you need deliverance? These next three months are ripe with possibility and promise for your healing and breakthrough!
Nissan is the holiest month of the Hebrew calendar, with the observance of Passover. The first Passover was when God delivered the children of Isreal from death and slavery in Egypt. A lamb was sacrificed, and its blood was placed upon the doorposts of each home to protect those inside from death. Jesus Christ came as the final Passover sacrifice to deliver all humanity from death and slavery. As the Lamb of God, as we apply His blood to the doorposts of our hearts, we are protected from eternal death and have access to abundant life here on the earth. In Him, we can break free from the slavery of sin to walk in righteousness, holiness, and intimacy with God in a Garden relationship once again.
The Hebrew letter associated with Nissan is the hey. Hey means to look, to reveal, to behold. It is the breath of God and the Holy Spirit. In the Holy Spirit is the creative power of God and the ability to speak and see things be created and transformed. The hey is a picture of a man with his arms raised. This is symbolic of praise and surrender.
Nissan is a month to take steps forward in our destinies as we trust in God’s leading and timing. Every new year is a new cycle in God’s calendar, which is cyclical and not linear. Therefore, with each new cycle, we should be making progress and moving forward in our spiritual walk. At this Nissan, many are crossing over into new things! What is the new God doing in your life?
Other characteristics of Nissan are:
Watch your speech this month. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. What we decree in Nissan will impact the rest of our year. Speak life, praises, and thanksgiving.
As we cross into the new, thank the Lord for the journey and where you came from.
Month of cleansing and cleaning – spiritual and physical
It signifies the “New Year of Kings.” Political changes take place in Nissan. It is a great time to examine what organizations we are aligned with and involved with.
It is the month to “learn to fish” and align our business endeavors. Are you in the right career? Is your business aligning with God’s plan and His will? Is it time to start a new ministry, business, or career? Nissan is a divine time to launch new things!
Evaluate your alignments in all areas. Who and what we are aligned with are of the utmost importance for fulfilling our destinies and callings. Are there moves you need to make that you have been avoiding? What has God been calling you to do to get positioned properly for this time?
Do you need a miracle? Do you need a new beginning? This is the perfect time on God’s calendar for those things!
Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it, and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
