This week's Hebrew word of the week is the word serpent. Serpent is the Hebrew word nachash (H5175). It means snake or serpent, and it is from the root nachash (H5172), meaning to practice divination, to whisper a magic spell, to prognosticate, and to learn by experience.
The first time the serpent appears in Scripture is in Genesis 3:1, where he is in the Garden and has become a host for Satan. Why was the serpent able to be the host for Satan? Because of its nature, which the Bible describes as cunning.
Back on August 10th, I was in prayer and worship, and I heard in my spirit these words from the Holy Spirit,
My people are being lulled to sleep by the magic spell of nachash. Nachash is still deceiving and bringing mixture. My people are lulling themselves to sleep with his magic spells in the form of what they are watching, listening to, and reading. It is keeping their minds in a state of spiritual slumber that they must awaken from if they are going to make it in what is now on the earth. They must understand and be able to hear My will to remain safe and secure.
As soon as I heard this, I knew it was a warning from the Holy Spirit for God's people. We must be on guard in this hour what we are allowing into our minds and what we are meditating on. We can not afford to have any mixture in our minds if we are going to navigate what is upon us successfully. We can only understand what is happening in the natural if we have the guidance of the supernatural wisdom from Heaven.
When the serpent has us under his magic spell, what is he actually doing? Let's look at the Hebrew letters that make up nachash to see what is actually happening to our souls.
